Privacy Policy
Moon ("we", "our", "the app") is a subscription tracking app developed by Martin Jiricka. This policy explains how we handle your data.
The Short Version
- Your subscription data stays on your device or in your iCloud
- We don't have access to your personal data
- We use anonymous analytics to improve the app
- No ads, no selling data, no third-party tracking
Data Storage
Local Data
All your subscription data, settings, and notifications are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage (Keychain). We never see this data.
iCloud Sync (Premium)
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is backed up to your personal iCloud account. This is your Apple account - we have no access to it.
Analytics & Diagnostics
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. This data is anonymous and includes:
- App usage patterns (which screens are visited)
- Subscription services added (names, categories, billing cycles)
- Crash reports and anonymous installation identifiers (which are not linked to your identity)
- Device type and iOS version
This data contains no personal identifiers - no name, no email, no account, no amounts. We see aggregated statistics like "Netflix was added 500 times this month", not "User X added Netflix".
We do not use analytics data for user profiling, automated decision-making, or marketing purposes. This data is used solely to improve the app's performance and stability.
Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase and may be transferred to the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not show advertisements.
Biometric Authentication
Face ID and Touch ID are processed entirely by iOS. Your biometric data never leaves your device and we have no access to it.
Notifications
All reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. We don't use push notification servers.
Your Data, Your Control
Since your data is stored on your device (not our servers), you have full control:

No request to us is needed - you control everything.
GDPR (EU Users)
- Legal basis: Legitimate interest (anonymous analytics to improve the app) and Performance of a contract (for providing Premium features after purchase)
- Your rights: You already have full access, export, and deletion control
- Data processor: Google Firebase (anonymous analytics only). Data transfers to the US are governed by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Since we don't store your personal data on our servers, there's nothing to request from us.
Children
Moon is not intended for children under 13. We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
